Guides

How to do it in GrowthPPL.

Each guide is one task, step by step, with the screen you will see and who is allowed to do it. Every step is checked against the product and dated.

Getting started

  • Set up your workspace: sites, legal entity and the work week

Set the company that employs your people, add each work site with its state, and say which days are worked, off or half. Professional tax, holidays and payroll all read these.

Who Owners and HR. Adding or editing a company needs compensation rights; sites and weeks need the right to edit employee records.

  • Import your roster and salaries from CSV

Bring your people in from a CSV with a preview of every row before anything is added, then bring in their monthly salaries and the leave they carry in from a second file.

Who Owners and HR (the right to edit employee records). Carried-in leave balances also need leave-approval rights.

Hiring

  • Build a weighted screening rubric and read the match score

Weight what matters for a role, then read the suggested overall match from 0 to 100 that GrowthPPL gives each applicant against those weights, with a short summary. A person decides; nobody is rejected automatically.

Who Owners and HR set the rubric (it needs the right to edit jobs). Anyone who can edit candidates can ask for a fresh score.

  • Send an offer and have it signed

Send an offer from the candidate's page; they sign it on a one-time link by typing their name. GrowthPPL records the name, the time, the network address and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the terms, which you can check later.

Who Owners and HR send, revise, withdraw and approve offers (the offer-management right). Editing the workspace's offer letter needs the right to manage documents.

Time & leave

  • Set up geo check-in for each site

Give a site a centre and a radius you set, decide whether a punch from outside is refused or recorded and flagged, and see what employees see when they check in on their phone.

Who Owners and HR (the right to edit employee records) set up sites and fences. Employees check in for themselves.

Payroll · India

  • Run your first payroll in India, and fix a "would be refused" run

Enrol your statutory schemes, read the check GrowthPPL runs before payroll, fix what it names, then run, approve and record the payment. A run that would be refused tells you who and which days before you press anything.

Who HR (anyone with the right to run payroll) prepares and runs it. The owner, or a role given payroll approval, approves a run when approval is switched on.

  • Generate and upload your PF ECR, ESI and PT returns

Build each month's PF ECR, ESI contribution file and professional tax returns from a paid run, check who is missing an identifier, and upload the files to the government portals yourself. GrowthPPL never files for you.

Who Anyone with the right to run or read payroll can check and download the files. Recording a challan needs the right to run payroll.

  • Use the bulk salary sheet: download, edit, upload, undo

Change many people's pay at once from a spreadsheet: download it, type the new figures and start days, check the preview, apply. A whole upload can be undone until a pay run uses it.

Who Someone who can open Compensation and edit employee records. Changing the salary rules from the sheet also needs compensation rights (or payroll rights when base pay is CTC). A limited login sees only its own people.

  • Set up CTC structures and gratuity inside CTC

Decide how a CTC is split into Basic, allowances and the employer's own contributions, switch base pay to CTC with a preview of everyone, and set gratuity aside inside the CTC if you want to.

Who Someone with compensation or payroll rights changes the structure, switches base pay and sets gratuity. Entering one person's CTC needs the right to edit employee records.

  • New vs old tax regime: what employees see in My pay

Employees compare the new and old income-tax regimes side by side on their own salary in My pay, choose one, and declare what the old regime lets them deduct. HR verifies the declaration or returns it with a note.

Who Each employee, for themselves, in My pay. HR verifies or returns declarations (the right to edit employee records).

AI

  • Use the assistant: plan, preview, confirm, undo, and what it withholds

Ask the assistant for a change in plain words; it prepares a plan you check line by line, runs it only when you confirm, and lets you undo it for 24 hours. The assistant is a pilot, on Pro and above.

Who Anyone the assistant is switched on for. Each step needs the same permission you would need to do it yourself; an owner sets who may use it under Settings › AI assistant.

Admin & security

  • Require MFA by role and sign in with Google or Microsoft

Require two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app for the roles you choose, and let people sign in with the Google or Microsoft account that matches their GrowthPPL login.

Who Only the workspace owner can require two-factor sign-in for a role or reset someone's. Anyone can turn it on for themselves.
