What changed in GrowthPPL each month, written by hand for the people who use it: HR, managers, employees and candidates. Newest first.
A month for the everyday: a Today card and a phone tab bar for employees, one inbox for managers, salaries changed from one spreadsheet, a payslip you design, and India's tax year 2026-27 under the new Income-tax Act.

Add candidate, and an agency's Submit candidate, now start from the CV. It is read into the form (by your AI provider where one is set up, otherwise from the plain text), fills only the fields you haven't touched, and checks for a duplicate while you type.
An interviewer can open the CV for their own panel during the interview window, and sees the scorecards they owe on their home screen. A hiring manager can tell People Ops that a candidate is ready to hire.
Interviews go on the organiser's Google or Microsoft calendar with a Meet or Teams link, after a free/busy check. A candidate can also pick their own time from a link; it is booked once and the panel is told.
Each live, public role goes out in XML feeds in the Indeed and LinkedIn formats, plus one documented generic feed for other boards to map. Applicants are recorded as coming from that board. A feed the board reads, not a posting integration.
A job can have its own pipeline stages, each counting as one of the five standard ones. Drag a card across the board, tag candidates, and search inside résumés. Every move is kept with who made it.
A requisition names its approver (never its author) and carries headcount and budget. An agency's submission carries its partner. A referral pays the policy's bonus through payroll. An employee can say they're interested in an internal opening.
A signed offer records the typed name, the time, the IP address and a SHA-256 fingerprint of what was signed, so you can check the record later.
Point a subdomain of yours at your GrowthPPL careers page, proved with a DNS record, and add culture videos to the page.
A Role & goals tab sets the job description and KRAs side by side. With an AI provider set up, one press drafts both from the profile's own facts for you to edit; an existing scorecard is never replaced without your say-so. Managers see a Role tab for each report, and employees see their own.
Employees open on a Today card: one Check in / Check out button, the shift on their site's clock and hours so far. On a phone, a tab bar keeps Home, Attendance, Time off and My pay a tap away.
Leave, expenses, attendance fixes, comp-off, work-log days, goal proposals, 1:1 requests and resignations sit in one list, each decided with its own checks. Approve all routine asks first, and covers only routine items.
Change a person's department from their profile, see live headcount on a Departments screen, and rename a department everywhere at once. Hand an asset straight to someone else, with a date and a return day.
CSV imports read files exported from other HR tools without reshaping them first, and ask only about the columns they don't recognise. Each import offers a filled sample file next to its template.
People Ops posts notices to the people they're for and chases acknowledgements. Employees resign from the portal, ask for a salary certificate or address proof, and send bank details, IDs and nominees for People Ops to check. Cases get reply targets, files and restricted notes.
A transfer or promotion takes effect on its date, can need a second person's approval, and brings its salary change and letter. Every asset keeps a ledger of who had it and the state it came back in.
The directory filters, sorts and pages on the server, keeps saved views, and edits the people you tick in one go. The owner's audit log filters on the server and exports every matching row.
Employees log what they did and for how long; managers approve a day or return it with a comment. Approved hours can count towards hourly pay. It stays off until you switch it on in Settings › Policies.
Working days, weekly offs and half days are set in one editor for the workspace, a site or a person, from a date and in bulk. An off day can fall on chosen weeks of the month, like the 2nd and 4th Saturday. The profile shows the one week payroll uses.
Attendance › Upload attendance takes monthly totals or day-by-day rows, from a template already filled with the month's people. Every row is previewed in plain words before it saves, and an upload can be undone until that month's run is saved.
HR can set any status, hours or range of days from a month grid, and undo the change for 24 hours. Work patterns (hours, days or shifts) can be set for the workspace, a site or a person from a date.
Payroll › Settings gathers each company's pay calendar, base pay, salary structure, gratuity, enrolments, overrides and payslip format, each card opening the screen that owns it. If you spot a change in the law we haven't published, report it from your workspace and we tell you the outcome.
Where your company must use a figure other than the published rule, set it from the first day of a pay period, with a reason. Every run, register and payslip it touches marks the figure as non-standard, and you can return to the law at any time.
Payroll › Payslip format: pick a preset, turn sections on or off, reorder them, rename labels and set the header and footer, for the workspace or one company. The format is frozen on each run when it is saved, so a saved payslip never changes.
Compensation › Salary sheet downloads everyone you can change, with live formulas for the split, gross, employer cost and an estimated net. Upload it back: every row is worked out again with your current rules and shown against today's figure before anything applies. A whole upload can be undone until a pay run uses it.
TDS for 2026-27 follows the new Act, and the forms take their new names from that year: the Form 138 annexure (24Q before 2026-27) and Form 130 (Form 16 before 2026-27). The rule stays marked for review until the 2026 Rules are checked against the official text.
Final settlements apply the Code's gratuity rules to exits from 21 Nov 2025, including fixed-term staff after one year of service. Pay bands are compared in the same terms as your base pay.
If you quote salaries as cost to company, switch Base pay to CTC: each salary is split by your own formula through the same statutory rules payroll uses, and you see everyone's before and after first. Gratuity can also be set aside inside the CTC, on the employer side. Past payslips never change.
Kerala professional tax and labour welfare fund, and the EPF wage ceiling under S.O. 5109(E), are in as new rule versions, each with its effective and checked dates. Our team can now publish a new PT slab, LWF amount or PF and ESI ceiling without a release.
One view of every company in the workspace, each in its own currency, with a group total at exchange rates the owner states.
Export the payroll journal as Tally XML or a Zoho Books CSV, under your own ledger names. A file you import, not a live sync.
Between two runs, every difference in a person's pay is named with its reason, in the run drawer and on their profile.
A probation review can run beside the annual one, each scoped to who it is about, with phase dates. Question templates hold ratings and written answers for the employee, the manager or both, frozen onto each cycle.
See a cycle's ratings side by side on a 9-box, move one with a reason, then lock them. Improvement plans carry objectives, check-ins and an outcome the person acknowledges. Raises are priced from the calibrated rating against a budget and applied as scheduled salary changes.
Write your own questions, choose an audience and a window, and set a threshold below which no results are shown.
The assistant plans, shows you exactly what will change, waits for your confirmation and runs as you; most steps can be undone for 24 hours. It can't run payroll or send an offer. It is in pilot, on Pro and above: we switch it on workspace by workspace.
Ask a question about your workspace, and the answer comes with numbered sources you can open. It reads with your permissions.
Read jobs, candidates and employees and add a candidate with scoped API keys; receive HMAC-signed webhooks for hiring and people events; let your directory create, update and deactivate people over SCIM 2.0.
New applicants, stage moves, hires, booked interviews and new joiners can be posted to a channel. Posts carry a name, role and time, never contact details or pay.
GrowthPPL installs on a phone from the browser, shows an offline page instead of an error, and pushes approvals and answers to the person they're for. Employees without a work email can sign in with a code by SMS.
Staff screens are in English and Arabic (right to left); frontline employee screens are also in Hindi and Malayalam. What a person typed stays as they wrote it.
The owner decides when our support team may enter: a time-boxed grant, or any time. The owner can download everything the workspace holds as one ZIP, and a former employee's personal data can be erased on request, with statutory records kept.
Codes from an authenticator app, which the owner can require by role. Sign in with Google or Microsoft (OIDC) to a login you already have; it never creates one. An HR login can be limited to companies, sites or departments, and a read-only payroll permission lets finance see runs and files without changing anything.
Headcount and its year, attrition, payroll cost per currency, hiring, what is waiting and the subscription, on one screen.
Payroll grew up: versioned statutory rules, more than one company per workspace, a pay run you can review before the money moves, and offer letters candidates sign on a link.

The apply form, video screening, the status page, offer signing, sign-in and applicant emails read right to left in Arabic.
Each role names its hiring team, and panelists fill their scorecards from My interviews.
A public job board for the roles you choose to list, with employer verification. Job seekers sign in with an email code or Google, see every application in one place, save roles and set job alerts. Applicants get a status link.
Many résumés become candidates at once, in a queue that doesn't have to finish in one go. Each one finds its role, and those it can't place are kept for you to sort.
The offer letter is your workspace's own template, edited with merge fields and a live preview. The offer email carries a link; the candidate signs by typing their name, and the record says who, when and from where.
Candidates start with their résumé. Where an AI provider is set up, About you is pre-filled from it; the posting stays beside every step.
Typed questions, optional steps, and preferred answers that flag an application, never reject it. Advancing to Interview books an interview.
Nominees per scheme, identity documents with their numbers sealed and their expiry tracked, your own employee fields, and a morning digest of probations, contracts, expiring documents and birthdays.
A manager can pass their approvals to a colleague for a while. Employees can propose goals, ask for a 1:1 and give kudos.
Every report runs from one place, each under its own permission. A manager's My team opens a page per person, with tasks from 1:1s and from themselves.
An employee document or a vault entry can point to where the file already lives, and a person can link their own paperwork.
A workspace notice can ask everyone to acknowledge it, and shows who has.
Starter letters for India, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, edited with a field picker and a live preview. Generate a letter from a person's record and read the draft before it goes to their file.
Maternity in one go, rules per leave type, year-end encashment, comp-off credits that lapse, and no approving your own request.
Rotating rosters with staggered starts; 2nd and 4th Saturdays off and the sandwich rule for leave; forgotten check-outs, overtime and late marks priced by your workspace's rules.
A punch made with no signal is kept on the phone and sent later. Attendance devices, or a bridge beside them, can post punches with an API key.
A fix goes through the approvals your workspace sets, with a manager's desk and a report of check-ins outside the location fence.
A named shift catalogue and dated assignments for each person, used on every attendance path. A night's punches count on one day.
Run a chosen period on its attendance cycle, lock a closed period, pay arrears on back-dated raises, run off-cycle, and require a second person's approval before a run is paid.
Payslips as printable pages and a tax year of them; salary bank files; gratuity and end-of-service pay on final settlements; statutory filings per company, built only from paid runs; and a challan register.
A policy per category with limits, receipts, mileage, per diem and duplicate checks. Approved claims are paid with the next pay run and show on the payslip. A receipt photo or PDF can pre-fill the claim.
Change from last month, cost to company, the accounting journal, end-of-service liability, revisions, reimbursements and settlements.
See everyone on the next run before the money moves, edit a run before it runs, pay someone once, and apply deductions to several people at once. A salary advance is asked for, paid out and taken back from net pay.
A workspace can employ people through more than one company, even in different countries. Each pay run pays one company, in its own currency, with its own statutory registrations.
Form 16 Part B as a printable page for each person; a member's voluntary PF share as its own register line; and a change in the law flagged once, acknowledged, and named on the run preview.
PF, EPS and EDLI, ESI, professional tax, LWF and TDS as versioned rules with their checked dates, deducted on the register. UAE and Saudi Arabia packs are in early support, with rates under review. Your own salary components, with each person's dated lines.
Fix a cycle's name or due date, a goal's title or target, or a KRA's words without closing or recreating anything. Every review and check-in stays attached, and the history is kept.
Notifications go out through one dispatcher, to the bell, email or WhatsApp, with a message log you can check.
The owner's setup page lists what is left to do. Salaries import from a sheet, with opening leave balances. Receipts are numbered.
Improvements across sign-in and account protection. Nothing for you to do.
The groundwork: onboarding that starts before day one, exits that end on the last working day, leave and attendance HR can trust, and workspaces outside India with their own currency and clock.

A pipeline card opens a full candidate page: the record on the left, every action and the outreach panel on the right. The pipeline also shows whether anyone has actually talked to a candidate.
Candidates pick their camera and microphone before recording, and answer in one continuous take, each question shown only while recording.
With an AI provider set up, draft a role's description and both question sets, or paste your website to draft your company profile. You edit before anything is published.
The suggested match score now reads the application answers, the screening transcript and the résumé text against your rubric. It is a suggestion; a recruiter decides.
Correct a role or a candidate, restore a rejected candidate, attach a résumé after adding someone by hand, and correct or call off a scheduled interview. Interview kits can be edited and attached to a real interview.
The joiner, their manager and a buddy each get a checklist, and document requests are slots the joiner uploads into for People Ops to accept or send back. An exit completes on the last working day. Department heads can be named, and a member can be signed out of every device at once.
Employees can take back an expense claim, read last month's payslip and reach their manager. Managers see and act for the people they manage.
An employee can read their own pay. A former employee can be rehired without becoming a second person. A document can be recorded without a file.
Write the workspace's own onboarding and exit checklists, with an owner for each line and a date to be late by. The document vault holds files.
Set times on a mark, mark many people at once and undo it. Hours decide the day, a muster roll prints, comp-off needs proof, and a location fence you set per site can refuse a check-in.
File leave for someone, take half days and unpaid leave, set the leave year and get reminders for pending requests. Holidays and weekly offs aren't charged, overlaps are refused, and every decision carries a name and a reason. Employees can withdraw their own request.
Phone numbers, money and dates follow the workspace's country and clock, and a day's pay in a final settlement uses the divisor the workspace states. Workspaces in the UAE and Saudi Arabia (early support) get their own currency and working week.
Opening a pay run shows its figures first, with any reason it would be refused, before anyone presses Run. You also see when a stretch of days is covered by no pay run.
A goal keeps its history of check-ins, and a 1:1 can repeat on a schedule.
Peer review is a stage of the cycle, and an employee can read and write their own review.
Goals can sit on weighted, measurable KRAs and KPIs.
A workspace can use its own key with its chosen AI provider. With your own key, data goes to that provider under your agreement with them.
Improvements across file uploads and sign-in. Nothing for you to do.
We'll show you any of these changes on a fictional clinic group, end to end.
